LOL. If the departments in my area got fined every time they transferred command without a face-to-face, they’d all be broke.
Let’s look at the bigger problem- there had to be some strategy and tactics issues here. How about the department figure THOSE out, instead of worrying about the OSHA boogeyman. They’ll be a lot better off in the long run.
The injury incident would not have happened except for two very incidious enemies.
1) Light weight construction that colapses prematurely when subjected to a fire situation
2) No residential fire sprinklers to protect the trusses and structural members
I support a movement by local jurisdictions to require all “engineered or lightweight” structures to be required to have a RIGHT TO KNOW sign attached to the structure to let homeowners and firefighters know the risk.
I just hope we do something before this deficiency kills an innocent fireman or homeowner.
