Retired Captain Loses Home to Fire

MONCKS CORNER — Fire this morning destroyed a Berkeley County home belonging to a retired Charleston Fire department captain, authorities said.

The fire happened about 8:40 a.m. at 230 Linden Street, just off U.S. 17A near Moncks Corner.

Volunteers with the Carolina Lowcountry Chapter of the American Red Cross are assisting the two adults and two children who live at the house, according to Nancy Olson, marketing and communications manager. (more…)

I read the Charlesto P$C article and checked at the Charleston IAFF Local 61 website and did not see the name of the retired fire captain.

Would this be Capt. Roger Yow? From the time just after the SSS Fire and up until he retired I corresponded with him several times.

If it is, hope he and his family are doing
    well at this time.
