
GEORGETOWN – The Georgetown City Fire Department has been presented with its third award for its fire safety program.
During the SC Fire Chief’s Association annual meeting in Anderson, SC, this year, the department was awarded the Richard B. Campbell Award for Excellence in Public Fire Safety Education.
Fire Chief Joey Tanner presented the award to Mayor Jack Scoville Monday. On hand for the presentation was City Administrator Chris Eldridge and the department’s fire marshal, Lt. David Holcombe.
“This is a great award for the City of Georgetown”, said Chief Tanner, “It means our Public Fire Safety Education program is one of the best in the state. I’m proud of the work our men and women do to promote fire safety.”
