    I am going to be moving to the sumter area from colorado. I am a NREMT and NFPA certified EMT/FF1 with additional certs in hazmat ops and wildland firefighting. I would appreciate any help and tips on what I need to do to get my certs transfered over and to find a dept there.  Ive been a volunteer for a little over a year and a half. Any help would be reatly appreciated. Thank you

    Just wondering if anybody can fill me in on how often the larger departments in South Carolina (such as Charleston and Greenville) hire new firefighters? I currently live in Wisconsin with all my fire protection certifications and paramedic degree and am very interested in relocating to the area.

    I’m currently 25 years old I’m a career firefighter from CT for the last 6 years. I’m looking to move to SC, any information about departments hiring would be great. I’m FF I/II HazMat Tech NFPA 472 along with EPA Tech Fire Instructor 1 Fire Officer 1 and Fire Inspector 1. I’m also an EMT on my days off from the fire house I work part time on a nonprofit ambulance association. Prior to starting my career as a firefighter, I was a military firefighter in the USAF. I have been deployed to multiple locations in part of OEF. My training and experience would make me a great person in any career fire department.
