ANDERSON COUNTY — Firefighters responded Thursday to a fire at an unoccupied home on Generostee Church Road that authorities are treating as suspicious. The fire did not result in any reported injuries and has not been ruled arson, said Anderson County Fire Chief Billy Gibson. Firefighters were called to the scene off U.S. 29 in Anderson County close to the Georgia state line around 6 a.m. Thursday, said Capt. Dale Fulton of the Williford Fire Department. (more…)

Tier Two Reporting Not Required
ANDERSON COUNTY – The Journal recently reported that The Anderson County Fire Department is involved in the creation of a vehicle modified to fight ethanol fires with an alcohol resistant foam. The vehicle will be available, if needed, to respond to an emergency situation involving ethanol which is being transported through the area by rail to a blending facililty located in the Cheddar community.
