4-year-old Killed in House Fire
DENMARK – The Bamberg County Coroner, Billy Duncan has identified the 4-year-old girl killed in this morning's house fire as Janae Greggs. The fire started around 1 a.m. at a mobile home on Cotton Street. That's off Church Street, near Whaley Street. When crews arrived on the scene, the structure was fully engulfed.
Rock Hill Man Dies in House Fire
ROCK HILL – Ronnie Joe Wylie spent his days working odd jobs.He was a mechanic, a construction worker, a painter, a landscaper, a "jack of all trades," his sister Janice said.During evenings, friends and neighbors would gather at his house off Neely Road in Rock Hill to play checkers on the porch, tell jokes and pitch horseshoes in the back yard. FF Injured in Rollover MVA
CHERAW – A South Carolina firefighter and four other people were injured in a crash Saturday near Cheraw. The truck flipped over on Camp Coker Road near Highway 52 at about 3:30 Saturday. Troopers said the Harris Creek Volunteer firefighter, who was responding to a fire call, was taken to the hospital.

Fire Destroys Church Reverends Home
ROCK HILL – A family of four who woke to smoke and fire barely escaped with their lives as an early morning fire destroyed their home. A charred ruin of the 1.5 story wood frame on Waverly Avenue is all that remains.
The alarm was received by the Rock Hill FD at 2:32am. Firefighters arrived to heavy fire coming from the top and side of the home.
The owner of the home, Reverend Matthew James, said his wife awoke to breaking glass and hastily awoke the others. the family cat is still missing but is suspected to have escaped through a cat door.
Fire investigators estimate the loss at around $200,000. The home was a complete loss.

UPDATE: 3 NOW CONFIRMED FATAL; ONE MISSING
YORK COUNTY – A massive line of severe weather created several tornado's that touched down in South and North Carolina. At least three people have been killed and up to five or more are still missing.
One tornado touched down in Chester County (photo above) causing significant damage to cars, trees, and mobile homes.
Another storm cell moved through York County in the area of Rock Hill killing at least three people. The area of devestation is near Williamson Road and Highway 324.
One mobile home was thrown 100+ yards as well as several cars tossed onto their roofs.
2 Weeks, 3 Fires, 3 Killed
HORRY COUNTY – 3 house fires that killed 3 Horry County people in less than 2 weeks have been ruled accidental. The most recent death occurred early Thursday when Brenda Casey, 49, died in her home located at 3017 Shetland Lane, which is located off U.S. 17 Bypass near the Myrtle Beach International Airport, Horry County Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard said. Colleton FF’s Battle RV Fire on I-95
COLLETON COUNTY – A large fifth wheel camper burned on I-95 at the 50 mile marker northbound, Tuesday morning 1-November at 10:09. The occupants of the truck pulling the camper noted they heard a popping noise, then saw flames coming from the area of the tires.
They were able to stop in the breakdown lane and used three fire extinguishers on the fire with little results. They then disconnected the pickup truck and called 9-1-1. Engine 1, Tender 1 and Medic 1 arrived 8 minutes later to find the camper well involved.
3 Horry County Fires Kill Two
HORRY COUNTY – Three separate house fires, including two where people were killed, in Horry County Sunday night and early Monday kept fire and rescue crews busy, according to authorities. The trio of blazes that were in the Wampee, Conway and Myrtle Beach communities, said Leslie Yancey, Horry County Fire Rescue spokeswoman. (more…)

Grandson Attempts Save of Grandmother in Deadly Blaze
SUMTER – Two people were killed early Saturday morning after officials with the Sumter Fire Department say their home caught fire.
Authorities say a 25-year-old male and his 80-year-old grandmother died at the home on Boulevard Road while trying to escape the blaze which was described as "fully involved" by the time firefighters arrived at the scene around 2:00am.
What Does it Take to Become a Columbia Firefighter?
COLUMBIA – The Columbia Fire Department is hiring, but the road to getting the job isn't easy. "Tough Course," said Assistant Chief Jamie Helms of the training system for recruits. Many start, but only a select few can finish. Edgefield County Restaurant Destroyed in Fire
TRENTON – A popular Trenton eatery, Trenton BBQ, was gutted by flames Friday afternoon when a kitchen fire got out of control. A dispatch call for a structure fire went out to local fire departments just before 2:30 p.m. this afternoon, with units from Trenton, Edgefield and County Line fire departments responding to the blaze.
12 Transported After Van Wreck on Interstate 95

HAMPTON COUNTY – At least 12 people are reportedly being transported to local hospitals following a one-vehicle wreck which involved a 15-passenger van Monday afternoon on Interstate 95. The accident was reported around 3:05p.m. as the van reportedly rolled over in the area of the 37 mile marker southbound with numerous passengers inside. Initial reports revealed there were at least 11 adults and three children involved in the accident.
West Florence FF’s Contain House Fire
FLORENCE – A Florence home has sustained heavy heat and smoke damage Wednesday afternoon following a fire.
Capt. Anthony Fox, spokesman for the West Florence Fire Department, said firefighters responded to a home along McNiel Drive around 12:45 p.m. Wednesday for a reported house fire.
Units including two engines, a tanker truck and a rescue truck located smoke coming from the roof of the home, but were able to contain the fire to the room of origin, said Fox.
Florence County EMS and the Florence County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene and the cause remains under investigation at this time. No one was hurt.
SC Highway Patrol Probing Crash That Killed EMS Patient
ORANGEBURG – Highway Patrol reconstruction team is working to determine the cause of an ambulance crash which left a 79-year-old patient dead. Mary Thompson of Vance died Monday as a result of blunt force trauma sustained when the ambulance overturned, Orangeburg County Coroner Samuetta Marshall said.
Fire at Downtown Apartment Damages 16 Units, Displaces Families
CHARLESTON – Overuse of extension cords was the cause of a Monday morning fire that ripped through a 16-unit apartment building at Bridgeview Village on Romney Street, authorities said. There were no serious injuries at Bridgeview Village Apartments, but a maintenance worker was taken to Medical University Hospital for an apparent minor case of smoke inhalation, according to Charleston Fire Department spokesman Mark Ruppel.
