Greenville Technical College
now offers a certificate in Fire Service Technology.
This program meets NFPA 1001, Standard for Fire
Fighter Professional Qualification for Firefighter I
and Firefighter II. These are curriculum (for college
credit) courses. Tuition rates apply and courses are
eligible for financial aid and lottery funds.
Students DO NOT have
to be sponsored by a fire department or have any
previous fire training experience to register for this
program.
To receive a certificate in
Fire Service Technology the student must successfully
complete; Medical First Responder, Firefighter I and
Firefighter II along with the following General
Education courses: English 101, Math 102 or 170,
Computer 101 and
FST
105 (Occupational Safety and Health in the Emergency
Services).
Courses will be offered in
the evenings with some Saturdays required. General
Education courses may be taken online and can be started
at the beginning of any semester.
